Eco Heritage Task Force 2013

On Tuesday we started work at 10, and also had a change in the working groups as some people were relocated from the clearing of the roman walls to the search for roman mosaic in the sunken ruins of some roman houses. After we finished working we headed to the restaurant where we are having dinner and after that we went back to the cinema to clean up the place and prepare the photo exhibition we would have during the evening. Also being there gave us the chance to rehearse the play that we will be showing at the “Good Bye” party. During the night we had no party planned but this gave us the opportunity to improvise something and test our spontaneity.

The morning started with a rain so we were not able to go to our usual work site at the roman ruins but instead we helped organize an exhibition at the local cinema. After that everything went as usual, with everybody relaxing. The fact that we haven`t done much physical work meant that we would be in great shape for the Argentinean party that was as expected a very successful party. The give really give it their best and in the end it showed up, as the 3 hours of barbequing paid off end everybody congratulated the guys for their cooking skills.

Sa Murtera smo polazili oko 9 prema Skradinu, jedan prekrasni biser Dalmacije. Nakon pića dobrodošlice u hotelu Skradinski buk posjetili smo znamenitosti grada. Naš obilazak nije puno trajao jer je kiša počela padati. Nakon šetnje gradom tako mokri, uputili smo se prema mjestu gdje je bio održan prvi nimalo bezbedan task force 1997.god. Na tom mjestu nakon rata ostali su ostaci mina. Nakon toga otišli smo u Drniš, gdje je nakon posjeta obnovljenog samostana svećenik sve ugostio ručkom. Naši dečki su zasvirali i pjevali. Oko 3 sata smo krenuli put Nacionalnog parka Krka i tu smo se zadržali do 17.30. Neki su se kupali, neki su išli u obilazak parka dok je jedna ekipa uživala uz piće u kafićima. Vratili smo se u Murter puni doživljaja.

The highlight of the day was the arrival of some of the senior leader like our beloved Ivan Galić and Sanja, even though this happend yersterday i am writing about it now because we didn`t actually had time to catch up the other day because they arrived late. The working day and the after noon went according to the normal schedule and since we had no party planned Sanja stepped up and organized an amazing party considering the small amount of time he had at her disposal. Also tomorrow we have a big day ahead of us as we have a lot of visting to do in Skradin and the Krk National Park. But more about this in tomorrow`s post.

There is a big day ahead of us as we have an interview planned for today which HTV1is going to take. Everybody is a bit nervous partly because some of us will be taken an interview and second because we all wanted to do a good job as we didn`t wanted people back home to think that we are just slacking and everything we do is just party and sunbathe. But with a group this hard working it`s close to impossible for anybody to think that we aren`t actually doing a good job. The entire interview went great and everybody was relieved and after such a stressful morning everybody went to the beach for some psychical relieve. Also in the evening we had the Spanish, Italian, French party which was an interesting mix of cultures and traditions.

Everything is going according to our normal schedule and I can happily say that this year we have a great team with people that not only work hard but also are fun to party and know how to have a good time. There is not much activity during the day as everybody has to regain their strength especially after the toga party we had last night and for that everybody has his own way of doing it, some go to the beach for a swim and some sunbathing while others consider that nothing is better that an afternoon sleep. Also in the evening we had the Hungarian party which as with every party so far ended up being a great party.

The morning started as usual until we were informed that in the night the toga party we were planning to have would turn into a massive roman party in conjunction with some professional actors and actually the whole town took part into that. As a consequence of this some of us where relocated to another work site where they had to set-up a sand arena for the gladiator fights that would take place later in the night. As for the after-noon we didn`t have time to do much since we were all busy with the dressing up, the make-up the rehearsal and everything else that needed to be done in order for the night to be a memorable one. As in fact it ended up to be the costumes where great the gladiator fights looked awesome and everybody played his part beautifully from the Cesar to the people carrying torches. Also in the end in my opinion the highlight of the night was the slave auction where we actually gathered some money for charity.

Tuesday started off early because of work. However, it was delayed as the weather did not allow us to work on the field. While we were waiting for the rain to stop, we talked, listened to some music and enjoyed the view. When the sky cleared, we headed off to work. While we were working at Colentum, there was a press conference in Sibenik about EHTF and the project Colentum. Ten reporters, the television and the mayor were present at the conference. Nives, Darko, Paolo were present from the team to explain the people about EHTF and the project in Murter. Overall, the press conference went well and there was a good atmosphere. An article was written about the project in Murter and EHTF for Slobodna Dalmacija.

Monday was a good day overall even though we were all kind of tired after the long trip we took on Sunday. Despite this everybody worked hard and we managed to bring to light another part of the beautiful ancient roman ruins. After this we went to the beach for a swim as he had some time left until lunch. After such a busy morning we went back to our bungalows to prepare for the “Black&White Party” or maybe to sleep for a bit as we had a packed day and night ahead of us. The party turned out to be great even though the busy schedule turned out to be too much for some of us as some people left early to go to sleep. But the ones who decided to stay were fully rewarded as we had a great time and even took a swim in the middle of the night.

Posjeta Kornatima
Ranom nedjeljnom zorom taskforsovci su ukrcali svoje torbe na brod. Idemo posjetiti nacionalni park Kornate! Srdačni domaćini s broda potrudili su se da nam putovanje prođe ugodno. Pripremili su nam ukusan ručak te otvorili i Krašove napolitanke da slast bude potpuna. I veliko im hvala, uspjeli su u tome!
Kornati ili Kornatsko otočje otočje su koje se nalazi u srednjoj Dalmaciji, zapadno od Šibenika i južno od Zadra, unutar Šibensko-kninske županije. Otočje je 1980. godine proglašeno nacionalnim parkom. Taskforsovci su obilazili površinu parka od 220 km˛, a cijeli nacionalni park sastoji se od 89 otoka, otočića i hridi. 1/4 parka je kopno, dok preostali dio čini bogati morski ekosustav. Nešto više informacija o tome dala nam je Martina Markov-Podvinski, naša domaćica toga dana. Prilikom obilaska informirani smo i Kornatskoj tragediji iz 2007. kada je u požaru stradalo 12 vatrogasaca. U znak sjećanja podignuti su križevi, koje smo prilikom obilaska mogli i vidjeti. Da se ne zaboravi!
Puni dojmova zaplovili smo prema Murteru. Nedjelja se ugasila, te smo otišli u krevete kako bismo skupili snage za radni dan, onaj najgori u tjednu – ponedjeljak!
